Over the last 6 months Hoof HQ has seen more than 20 new pieces of music generated. We’re now in the process of honing them down to a cohesive album’s worth. Recording starts in late September. Not going to give away the title/theme yet but we can assure you it’s as ambitious as it is audacious.
For anyone still in two minds about whether to get themselves to the Standon Calling festival this weekend: the Hoof can guarantee a memorable, possibly even historic, performance. We’re pulling out all the stops to put on what will undoubtedly be our show of the year. Lots of new material being aired, too! We hope to see you there . . . . .
No one emerged unscathed from the twisted hulk that was Crush Depth. The injuries were many and various: some required little more than field dressing and a few good meals. Others were in need of more extensive recuperation. The Keeper of the Engine Room’s mind had blown – pushed beyond endurance by the extremes of two worlds. Our navigator for a while had lost his own compass, fleeing to distant lands – yet returning filled with renewed purpose, ancient maps and a bloody impressive tan. Our ship’s Heirophant and Guardian of the Uridium withdrew completely and stared at a wall for three whole months . . . . . . .For a time there was drift, but we the remaining crew sat tight, watched our wounds slowly close and conjured new plans of exploring wild, forbidding terrain. The plot was hatched, the dials set and we readied our minds for a headlong rush into . . . . . . .
Some major building works have scuppered this show for the moment but is being re-scheduled for later in the year. We’ll let you know the new date as soon as we hear.
Our return to the great, non-corporate weekender that is Standon Calling – and our second time playing with Battles.
